SIM and eSIM

To transfer your SIM to a new iPhone, you can use eSIM Quick Transfer for a direct transfer from a nearby iPhone (iOS 16+), manually move your physical SIM by ejecting its tray and inserting it into the new phone, or activate a new eSIM by contacting your Omantel.

Omantel WiFi Mesh Solution

For a Physical SIM Card:

Locate the SIM tray on the new iPhone.

Eject the tray using a SIM ejector tool or a paperclip.

Remove the SIM card from the tray.

Place the SIM card into the new tray.

Insert the tray back into the new iPhone; it will get service.

For an eSIM (Digital SIM) on iPhone 16 and Newer:

This method requires both devices to have iOS 16 or later and have Bluetooth on.

On your new iPhone, go to Settings > Cellular > Set Up Cellular or Add eSIM.

Tap "Transfer from  Nearby iPhone" or select a phone number to transfer.

Follow the prompts on both your new and previous iPhones to complete the transfer.

Your old iPhone's mobile plan will be deactivated once the new one is activated on your new device.

For Other Situations:

Transferring from an Android phone:

You will need to contact your Omantel for assistance with transferring your number.


Using a QR code:

If instructed by your Omantel, you can go to Settings > Cellular > Set Up Cellular > Use QR Code to activate your eSIM.
